Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 October 2026
1. Who we are
Pick a pocket (the “app”) is operated by:
- Business name: OLEKSII BOROVYK
- NIP: 6762677371
- Registered address: Chełmiec, ul. Magazynowa 49A/2, 33-395, Polska
- General contact: support@pickapocket.app
- Privacy contact: privacy@pickapocket.app
These Terms are our contract with you. It is concluded when you first use the app, with or without an account, and it ends when you delete your account or stop using the app. If you do not accept these Terms, please do not use the app.
2. Open beta: please read this first
3. What the app is, and what it is not
Pick a pocket is a personal budgeting tool. It stores and organises the information you enter. It does not connect to your bank account, has no access to it and never transfers money.
In the Learning section we publish general educational material about budgeting methods, for example the envelope system or the 50/30/20 rule. That is general information, not a personal recommendation: we do not know your circumstances and do not assess them. The budgeting-method quiz suggests a method from your answers; it runs only on your device, and its suggestion is general information too.
The app does not provide individual financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Calculations, charts, exchange rates and reports are for reference only. Exchange rates come from public third-party sources and may be delayed or inaccurate. Decisions you make while using the app remain your own.
4. Technical requirements
You need an iPhone, iPad or Android device with a system version no older than the one stated on the app's page in the App Store or Google Play. An internet connection is needed to create an account, sign in, synchronise, use shared wallets and invitations, export a wallet kept in the cloud, change your email address, delete your account and update exchange rates. Wallets kept on your phone work offline, and changes you make offline to wallets in the cloud are sent when you are back online.
5. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- Provide accurate information and keep your password, your devices and the codes we email you secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us that someone else has access to it.
- Tell us promptly at support@pickapocket.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app, or by writing to privacy@pickapocket.app from the address of the account. Deletion is permanent; what we keep for a limited time afterwards is listed on our GDPR Rights page. Deleting your account also deletes every wallet you own, including wallets you shared, together with what other members added to them.
- An account whose email address is not confirmed within 24 hours of registration is deleted automatically.
- We may suspend or close an account if these Terms are breached, if the service is abused, or where the law requires it. We will tell you why, unless we are prohibited from doing so.
6. Wallets kept only on your device
A wallet you create without an account is stored only on your phone. When you have an account, new wallets also stay only on your phone until you turn on Global sync in your profile, and you can move a single wallet from the cloud back to your phone. We never receive these wallets, so we cannot restore them if the device is lost, reset or the app is removed. On an iPhone they can come back only from the phone's own backup. They stay on the device after you sign out, and anyone who can open the app on that device can see them. To protect them, turn on App lock in your profile, under Security.
If you forget the app-lock PIN and have no recovery phrase, or have forgotten it too, the only way back into the app is Start over, which deletes the wallets and templates kept only on that device.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the app unlawfully or store unlawful content in it; attempt to gain unauthorised access to it; reverse engineer, decompile or copy it; interfere with its operation or overload it; scrape it automatically; or enter other people’s personal data without a lawful basis.
8. Your data and shared wallets
Everything you enter remains yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, process and synchronise that content in order to run the service for you. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
You can export a wallet to a CSV or PDF file from your profile. An export includes at most 10,000 expenses. Keeping your own copies of important records is your responsibility.
Shared wallets: only a wallet's owner can invite people to it. The people you invite can see its contents and, depending on the access you grant, change them. You can give access until a set date, after which it ends automatically. A wallet can have at most 10 members and pending invitations together, you can send at most 20 invitations a day, and an invitation can be answered for 7 days. You decide who to invite and you are responsible for that choice. When you enter data about another person, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so.
9. Price
The app is free of charge. If we introduce paid features, we will publish their terms and price before they become available. Using them will be your choice.
10. Our rights in the app
The app, its name, design, text and code belong to us and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
11. Availability and changes to the service
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, or that the app will be offered in every store or every country. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the app. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will email the address of your account and announce it on this website at least 30 days in advance, so that you can export your data. If you use the app without an account, this website is where you will find it.
12. Liability
We are liable to you under the law for damage we cause. We are not liable for damage caused by:
- your own actions, including deleting data and sharing a wallet;
- someone using your account, device or codes before you told us about it;
- the loss, reset or malfunction of your device, which includes wallets kept only on it (section 6);
- app stores, your network or other services we do not control;
- events beyond our control.
Nor are we liable for decisions you take on the basis of the app (section 3). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Complaints
Send a complaint to support@pickapocket.app. Describe the problem and, if you have an account, write from its address. We will answer by email within 14 days.
14. Reporting unlawful content
For notices about unlawful content, and for contact from authorities, write to support@pickapocket.app in English, Polish or Ukrainian. If we act on content you stored, we will tell you what we did and why.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms only for one of these reasons: a change in the law or a decision of an authority; a change in the rules of the App Store or Google Play; a new feature or the removal of one; security; or a change of our service providers. We will email the address of your account and publish the new version on this page at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept it, you can delete your account before that date; otherwise the new version applies. If you use the app without an account, this page is where you will find the change; if you do not accept it, stop using the app.
16. Transfer of the contract
We may transfer this contract to a successor, for example a company we set up or a buyer of the app. Your rights under it will not be reduced. We will tell you in advance by email to the address of your account and on this website.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings before the courts there.
